R. W. Gillard Lawn

A peaceful lawn burial area combining heritage, natural beauty and lasting simplicity

Honouring legacy in a tranquil, landscaped setting at Springvale Botanical Cemetery

Established in 1980, with its first interment in 1981, the R. W. Gillard Lawn is named in honour of Redvers William Gillard, a dedicated member of the Necropolis Trust from 1966 to 1974.

With a distinguished career in public service, including serving as Auditor-General for Victoria (1957–1965), Redvers William Gillard’s legacy is reflected in this thoughtfully designed space.

The lawn provides a calm and harmonious environment, featuring flush plaques set level with the ground to maintain a seamless landscape.

We have recently opened more burial locations, helping meet growing community demand. These locations begin at the Dianella Microforest and extend south, offering new opportunities within this established and highly regarded area.
