A coastal legacy since 1886
Established circa 1886, Sorrento Community Cemetery became part of the Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust in December 2017. Originally divided into Anglican, Presbyterian, and Roman Catholic sections, its first burial was John Darbyshire who tragically perished during a king tide and was found marooned on a rock now known as Darby’s Rock.
