Live streaming funeral services

At Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT), we understand how important it is for families and friends to feel connected during times of loss - even when distance makes it difficult to attend in person. 

Our complimentary funeral livestreaming service offer a compassionate and inclusive way to participate in funerals from anywhere in the world. All our spaces at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Bunurong Memorial Park are equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia technology to support inclusive and accessible funeral services.

Funeral livestreaming allows loved ones to:

• Join remotely from interstate or overseas
• Support vulnerable guests who may be unable to attend in person
• Preserve memories with optional recordings
• Create inclusive experiences for diverse communities

Our livestreaming offering includes:

• Complimentary livestreaming for all funeral and burial memorial services
• Private streaming links available to share with family and guests
• Recording options available for later viewing and download
• Managed by experienced staff to ensure a smooth, respectful, and high-quality experience

1. When booking your burial, funeral or memorial service, let our team know that you would like video streaming to be made available for extended family and friends.

2. For each chapel, reflection space or burial service booked, an online video link will be set up, and the service will appear in our list of upcoming live streamed services to allow guests to find it. If you would prefer the link to remain private, please mention this to our friendly team when you make your booking. 

3. Your virtual guests will be able to locate the service on our live stream services page. If you have requested for the service to remain private, they will be able to access the service via the link provided by our team at the time of booking. We recommend all virtual attendees click on the link five minutes prior to the scheduled service time to access the live streaming video.

We will do everything possible to ensure both the service and live streaming services commence at their allocated time. In some cases, small delays can happen between services. We ask that you leave the browser window open so when the service is online, it will be available for viewing.
